FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions

Things You Just Might Need to Know

Can I use my own personal insurance?

Renter is required to provide written verification from their auto policy carrier to confirm coverage extends to the rented camp trailer being towed. If their auto policy does NOT provide this kind of coverage, see below!

What if my auto insurance doesn’t cover RV rentals?

Our commercial Carrier, MBA Insurance, offers an addendum to allow customers to rent our camp trailers. It is cost-effective and easy to acquire. We simply email a link directly to renter no later than 3 days before their trip, and no earlier than 7 days before their trip begins, per insurance policy requirements. Customers purchase through MBA directly.

Do you allow pets?
One adult, well-trained and 100% housebroken dog is allowed in specific units only. Because camp trailers have limited space, we recommend medium or small-sized dogs. See our terms and conditions page as well as our rental agreements for more details and cost.

Is there any flexibility for picking up or returning the RV?
Monday through Saturday do have more flexibility, but all pick ups and returns are scheduled via our website or simply in advance.  Sundays are between 1-7pm. But we get it, things happen to cause delays or weather creates incentives for urgent returns. We are happy to adjust times via phone, should the need arise. (We do make exceptions, please ask in advance.)

How long is orientation before I can leave on my trip?
Expect to have an hour orientation for a pop-up camp trailer, slightly less for our hardside units. These can be scheduled in advance of your trip or be done the day of pick-up. We want you to get on the road with confidence so you can have a great adventure.

Is a trailer brake controller required?
Yes! All campers over 3000 lbs require an electronic brake controller. Good news, many of our rentals have a special controller installed that works with 7-pin connectors. For example, BLACK BEAR has an onboard brake controller (7-pin connector still required) that functions with a key fob; no app required!

Are there any age requirements to rent a camp trailer?
(Per our commercial insurance), yes, we require all renters and listed additional drivers to be the industry standard minimum, 25 years old.

Do you deliver?
Yes, we offer delivery/pick-up for an additional charge of $250 round trip for up to 50 miles from Dale, WI. Delivery includes: set up, checking all systems before departure, setting up bedding if included, orientation, visual inspection with pictures; return includes inspection, checking systems, handling waste water removal and clean up, and return of rental to office location.

Do any camp trailers function without water or electric hookups?
We have units that have holding tanks, and others that require electric and water hookups. If you want to have all systems functioning, running water, electric, etc, then some form of power is required. 30 amps or a 3600w generator  for many of our units is sufficient. If you want to go off grid camping, verify required power needed, rent a generator or bring your own. Most roof top A/C units require minimum 3600w generators, some only 2500w generators. We currently have three generators for rent. Reserve in advance in the add-on section.  NOTE:  A/C does NOT work on either battery or solar power. Only two units are solar capable for minimal power usage.
